As President of Higher Talent, Inc., Mindy has built a national boutique search firm on great results, stewardship of clients and candidates, and lasting relationships. Repeat clients and referrals account for 95% of Higher Talent’s business. The firm’s success is testament to Mindy’s passion for helping professionals reach new career heights and serving mission-driven organizations. She has successfully recruited, coached and placed hundreds of executive directors, chief development officers, chief marketing and communications officers, senior academic medical and healthcare philanthropy professionals, and university-industry partnership leaders and liaisons. Many of these recruits have become Higher Talent clients.
Earlier in her career, Mindy founded VentureSearch, DC, where she provided executive search services in the National Capital Region from 2003 to 2005. VentureSearch focused on the fast-growing technology and biotech industries. Mindy previously served as Director, Business Development & Recruiting, at Dinte Resources, Inc., an executive search firm based in the Washington, DC area. In the late-1980s, Mindy honed her skills working with internationally renowned executive search firms Eastman & Beaudine and Heidrick & Struggles.
Mindy has written and spoken on challenges confronting universities and nonprofits focused on corporate engagement, recruiting, and organizational structure/compensation. She is a board member of Easter Seals DC | MD | VA, a regular moderator at University Industry Development Program Conferences, panelist at the American Marketing Association Symposium for the marketing of Higher Education and is an elected member of the Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants. She has a BA in Biology from the University of Texas, Austin, and earned a Level 1 Certification from Hogan Assessments, introducing this personality analysis tool to Higher Talent’s clients.
She supports several nonprofits, including WAMU 88.5 American University, Meals on Wheels, Levitt Pavilions, and her alma mater, University of Texas, Austin, and is a member of CASE, AFP, and AHP, as well as several LinkedIn groups, focused on diversity and inclusion.
